She surprised, she sizzled and she upstaged the likes of Jennifer Lopez
and Cher who shared the same star-studded bill when she stole front page
headlines after giving a feisty routine before the Queen at the 2001 Royal Variety
Performance.
On
November 26th, Cilla made a singing comeback @ London's Dominion Theatre
giving her first live
singing for nearly a decade. She made a welcome entrance performing You've
Gotta Have a Gimmick from the 1962 musical Gypsy,
proving without a doubt she hadn't lost that voice. Playing
the vampish role of one of the strippers she had the audience in the
palm of her hand belting out her part in a trio which also included Carry-On
actress Barbara Windsor & drag- queen Lily Savage (aka Paul O'Grady).

Cilla
later revealed her inspiration to do this came after seeing a
Westminster production of the musical which friend Paul O'Grady had
taken her to as way of a Valentines Day treat.
