after 18 years fronting the popular dating-game show...
Cilla announced on a LIVE broadcast of the show
(4 January 2003) that this would be her final

suffering from a gradual decline in ratings Blind
Date returned to British television screens in October 2002
having undergone almost a rebirth with a fresh look and feel - all light

"It
was time to leave the show....I wasn't quite happy with the
changes...I'm of the old school if it ain't broke don't try to fix
it..." - Cilla |

The
dramatic changes to the show's
format which Cilla later admitted to feeling "uncomfortable"
about included the picker having an option to Date or Ditch
their choice, as well as various specials featuring celebrity boy-bands
and guest stars. Ex-contestant DJ Tommy
Sandhu also replaced long-time voiceover Graham Skidmore (aka "Our
Graham").
Cilla's final show was televised on
May 31st and featured a look-back at some classic moments from the show which during its
heyday captivated an audience of over 17 million viewers across
Great Britain.
