Cilla returns with her 15th studio album...
Cilla
re-signed to EMI Records earlier in 2003 and on the 22
September she releases her new
album Beginnings (Cat #5931812). This is her latest
project for the recording giant that
launched her singing career in 1963.

 "EMI
in their infinite wisdom have signed me with an option of
another album..."

Cilla
began recording for Beginnings in June and July 2003 with
producer
Ted
Carfrae (the man behind David Cassidy's
Top 5 comeback album "Then and Now").
The aim for this project was to return to the same quality and diverse music
Cilla produced during the 1960s/70s. It was notably during this
era that Ted first worked with Cilla as an
assistant sound engineer on her albums
Modern Priscilla
(1978) and
Especially For You (1980).
The
finished 20
track CD is named after Cilla's brand new song penned by Burt Bacharach who scored
her '60s hits Anyone
who had a heart and Alfie. As well as featuring some of Cilla's biggest selling singles
(all digitally remastered from original studio tapes) the album
includes eleven new studio recordings such as her covers of the Nashville hit
Beautiful
Goodbye
and Nat King Cole's Let There Be Love.
The
legendary Cliff Richard also provides backing vocals to a
heartfelt interpretation of the John Lennon song
Imagine.
Watch out also for remakes of Cilla's singles I've Been Wrong Before and a late night lounge
version of Anyone
Who Had A Heart.
