RECORDINGS RE-MASTERED!
07
September 2009
All
ten studio albums Cilla released for the EMI group during the
1960s & '70s are released worldwide* today (September 7th)
on download.
EMI began work on these projects earlier this year
after conceding to growing pressure from Cilla's fan base which
demanded her LPs be re-issued for once and for all in a digitally re-mastered format. This
mammoth
series of re-issues includes a total of 122 original stereo recordings plus
rare bonus tracks from the archives at Abbey Road. These albums
offer a magnificent array of musical genres
from pop, jazz, R&B, show tunes, sixties power-ballads, gospel
and disco - all demonstrating Cilla Black’s versatility as a song
stylist.
EMI
have also taken the unprecedented step to also include digital
booklets with each of these catalogue re-issues. These contain original album artwork, detailed
track information, an all-new interview with Cilla as well as
photographs from her private photo archive. Each booklet will be
available from iTunes when an entire album re-issue is purchased.
