The Essential Cilla Black: 1963-78 [Cover Artwork]

Physical: amazon.co.uk / amazon.com

This critically acclaimed 2CD set was a project carefully conceived and compiled for the Australian music market from fan feedback on this website. The release poignantly re-affirmed Cilla's connection with songwriters Lennon & McCartney and Bacharach & David by showcasing the majority of the recordings Cilla made of their respective work. This particular Cilla Black CD project was also notably the first whereby EMI Australia had actually mastered all the recordings from the original master tapes (opposed to opting for only vinyl LP transfers).

"...an intriguing collection....40 songs....remind us that Cilla Black....deserves her place in pop music history....Cilla's early vocals were clear and fearless."

Q Magazine (Jan 2000):
4/5 Star Rating (Excellent. Definitely worth investigation) "....this 40 track Cillathon is faultless......including a "luvley" Across The Universe that will erase LWT Cilla from your mind."
