The Very Best Of Cilla Black [1983 Album]

This TV advertised compilation album was originally released in 1983 on Vinyl LP and Cassette to mark Cilla’s ’20th Anniversary’ in show business. The album reached No. 20 on the UK Album Chart in 1983. The album was also certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry on 28 January 1983.

As part of the promotion for this album Cilla appeared on BBC TV chat show ‘Wogan’ hosted by Terry Wogan. This interview was considered her ‘comeback’ to prime-time television and is credited for bringing Cilla to the attention of ITV Executives who later signed her to front prime-time TV shows ‘Surprise, Surprise’ and ‘Blind Date’.
