Cilla

1965-cilla

Arguably Cilla Black’s most anticipated album, ‘Cilla’ was released in January 1965 following two #1 hit singles during one of the most competitive decades in the history of British pop music. The album was Clla's first long play release for Parlophone Records and produced by George Martin (The Beatles). It showcased Cilla's diverse vocal range through an array of jazz and soul standards as well as two new power ballads, the Italian origin song "One Little Voice" and "Come To Me" which was written by the album's producer and Cilla's future husband Bobby Willis. ‘Cilla’ received massive critical & commercial success - it reached No.5 in the UK charts.
