Scannappeal’s patron Cilla Black attends charity reception

Since 1995, Cilla has been the Patron of the Buckinghamshire based charity Scannappeal which raises funds for life-saving medical equipment needed by hospitals in the local area.

On the 3 March, Cilla attended a reception held at Amersham Hospital to mark the success of the charity’s Amersham HeartScan Appeal which raised over £60,000 for an advanced cardiac imaging system to diagnose and treat heart disease.

The reception was attended by 100 key supporters of Scannappeal’s fundraising who were thanked for all their hard work. Guests were also able to visit the dermatology and radiology departments to see demonstrations of other equipment they have helped Scannappeal to purchase in recent years.

Cilla rounded off the evening with a special award to the Chairman of Trustees, Bryan Rigby who retired after 12 years of dedication and volunteering for the charity. She said, “Bryan has undertaken a tremendous amount of work for Scannappeal and we thank you for everything you have done over the past 12 years. We’re all going to miss you terribly.”

Scannappeal’s fundraising continues with the Brain Injury Unit Appeal for Amersham Hospital, the Cancer Fighting Fund for Wycombe Hospital and the Save Their Skin Appeal for Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
