ITV’s cult comedy ‘Benidorm’, written by Derren Litten, returned to British screens with record-breaking ratings on Friday night (25 February) according to the latest viewing figures just released.

The 4th series opener entitled “Cilla’s Villa”, guest starring Cilla Black and Denise Welch, averaged an impressive 7.31m (30.2%) from 9pm which beat the previous peak of 6.80m viewers achieved during the show’s last series. The latest episode also proved to be the most watched programme in the UK on Friday evening.
