Cilla’s No. 1 ‘VERY BEST OF‘ album achieved a significant milestone in its release history today as it was certified GOLD by the British Phonographic Industry having sold over 100,000 units.
The 2013 compilation released to mark Cilla’s ’50th Showbiz Anniversary’ is now not only Cilla’s highest charting album but it is also her biggest-selling album since the 1960s when she scored three ‘Top 10’ studio albums: ‘Cilla’ (1965), ‘Cilla Sings A Rainbow’ (1966) and ‘Sher-oo!’ (1968) – during one of the most competitive decades in pop music history!
‘THE VERY BEST OF CILLA BLACK‘ dropped just one place on the latest Official UK Album Chart after Jess Glynne’s eagerly awaited début claimed the top spot. Cilla however remains at No.1 for a 2nd week on the Official New Zealand Album Chart.
